They're really good, if you don't mind paying for pretty. You can make an identical kit for £100.

They're nice though.

Lucky i paid 150 for mine then! ;)

I think they sound better too...Simota hot air IK, straight infront of the Radiator! ;)

wasnt there an independent test done and it concluded the best air filter for gains was the K&N gen 2, and even that only gave 1bhp over standard!

At the end of the day there's better things to spend the money on if you want more power/torque.

Mine ain't. My Simota is custom fitted from my old car. enclosed with a cold air feed. I agree with the open one's though, They do look like they suck in a lot of hot air.

...Lol at the haters. You will pay about £100 for one. Buy it, use it, sell it on for around £250ish (i have twice) Best IK for a mk2 ;)

Probably because it was needing set up? (mapped) - mine came with a ph1 airbox standard, Viper was a big improvement over that, (mapped) then had to bin it and got a Maxogen and that improved top end pull over the Viper.

If you fit one and the cars running 'normal' then its not working right :rasp:

But its ment to be a fit and forget item? Anything after a remap would increase power really. Even an open filter could give gains with a remap :)

From just fitting and driving, the PH1 has given better feel and for £150 less.

^ Pisch!! ITG pee's on all.

Correct

exactly the same, but with more noise and £200 more expensive.

Wrong

Wrong

Just like basically all the Maxogen haters. Zero experience of one but still have a opinion :rasp:

Right

Here's what Technical Director for BPM, No 1 Mechanic for TW and Technical Engineer for Pectel Engine Control Systems has to say about them

"In terms of aftermarket airboxes the ITG AB65/AB80 airbox is pretty much at the top of the game. Short of paying a lot of money to have a company design an induction/filtration setup specificaly for the requried application you'll struggle to outdo a well done setup with an AB65/AB80 at the heart of it."

Or you can belive a bunch of no marks who are too pikey to pay for one and then try to claim an airbox from a scrappy is the same thing.

Laingo - Maxogen evangelist tbh  lol

What I will say is.. I wouldn't pay full price for one, unless I was trying to squeeze every last drop from a single TB setup. But if you can get a Maxogen (the complete setup with silcone elbow, blanking plate etc) for around £200 then it's Maxogen everytime.
