Maxogen Vs K & N Panel Filter

This may sound silly and a bit random but whats the Best ?

K&N Panel 57i Typhoon Filter ?

Pipercross panel and viper filter ?

Bmc filter

ITG Maxogen filter ?

Pound for pound ?

I personally wouldnt pay for a Maxogen as they are stupidly expensive for what gains you will receive. Id maybe purchase one if I had some major engine mods but for just a de-cat/chip/system I personally wouldnt.

Panel filters all the way for me, cheap and helps the engine breathe alittle better.

But when you come to sell one, you get most of your cash back, quick.

Also unless you have had one how can you comment:S

Best induction kit you can buy. Quality of the fit and build are second to none. As Steve said, you'd get a fair whack of your cash back if you come to sell it too.

Like any breathing mods, ideally match it up with getting the fuelling sorted to get the best from it

I dont buy the hype about panel filters. Good for a replacement but thats it. Just because the OE filter housing looks like a Maxogen dosent mean it is one ;)

Maxogen is far superior than any other induction kit I have ever owned, but I haven't owned the typhoon I supose it must be similar to the 57i kit though?

Here's an example:

I bought my K&N 57i Induction kit for about £110 and then couldn't sell it for weeks untill I brought the price down to £20

I brought my Maxogen for a little over £300 and when I was going to sell it at £220 5 ppl were pm'ing me about they will have it, sorting out delivery I think they would have sucked my c**k if I asked!!!

I think this happened because you don't see many maxogens for sale, why do you think that it???

If you look a bit further down at thread "induction kit question no.278" there is three pages of b****cks regarding induction kits.

sum 1 should just make a induction thread with info and sticky it at top of page would save so many questions:)

i hav jus changed from an ITG Panel filter over to a Maxogen and tbh there really aint much difference in performace between the too!!! the Maxogen might be slightly better form throttle response but for the cash u are better goin for the panel filter!! saying that it all depends on how far ur goin with ur car?? the only reason i went for the Maxogen is because my cup is getting the cam conversion soon!!

I've just gone from an itg panel filter to a maxogen and it awesome. Well worth the cash I payed, not sure i'd pay full whack though.

  a thirsty one
i have tried many filters and ended up with a k+n panel filter, i just like the old school cotten over the foam applications the k+n managed .better bhp than an itg (diff rr though so not an accurate test), cheaper than a maxogen although i appeciate the design and sound they make.

I'd be inclined to agree with Mark, The gain's or rather noticeable performance gains are negliable. Maybe 2-3bhp accross the power curve. I had one of the First maxogens and whilst it's a lovely bit of kit and sounded nice i'm offen not sure whether it was worth it...Thern again i only paid 150 for mine! :)

Thank you very much

Yours is coupled with other mods tho...So an unfair comparison

Dicky...If you can afford the maxogen, horse on, but a panel will be more than sufficient.

As said on another thread. Unless you map it to suit, you wont see the best from it.

The 'quickest' Clio's on here aint running panel filters - nuff said :quiet:

No there runnin TB's! lol

Mappin...Meh, again coupled with in and out breathin mods you will see a decent gain, but it's all apart of a bigger picture.

Mine was 192.6 after, map, ITG, decat, zorst, headwork and inlets. so thats a 21.5bhp gain and about a 11ft/lb torque increase...Total cost...about 1k, but in reality about 2k! it's not what you know it's who.

Exactly.

A decent IK is just one link of a whole package (ideally)

RR's tho, always a false economy to proper outside temp and different air flow/s
