mechanical problem

can any one help please some days my car will not start, i put the key in and it just will not turn over could this be due to a loose wire

Yes, could be a cable loose, but batteries do not like cold weather, and coupled with greater wintertime headlight use, need to be in tip-top condition, so first establish the condition of your battery.
Most Tyre places and back-street garages will have a battery checker and usually will check for you for free, unscrupulous ones will try and sell you a new battery regardless, but unless you know your battery is less that 2 years old, it might be a safe bet to get one anyway.

When you have driven the car,and the engine is hot,it won`t crank?
When it won`t crank,do the dash lights flicker and does the starter motor solonoid click repeatedly?
After it has stood a while,the battery recovers and will crank the engine to start?
Which model by the way?
