Just got this message

"Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. In some cases, you can resolve the problem by updating the device driver for your video card"

I've updated the driver for the video card, still not working

Also can't seem to backup the DVD using DVD Shrink?

There used to be a flaw where holding down SHIFT would disable the protection before playing the DVD, not sure if that still works though.

What DVD is it, and is it a copy?

You trying to play ir, or to copy it?

its talledega nights rental copy. I can't even play it on my pc yet i watched it last night on my dvd player fine

Are you trying to use component/TV-Out by any chance?

If so try getting a program called CSSfree.

If that doesn't work, google for C00D1163 (thats the error code) and theres lots of solutions.

nope just a normal vga out. Every other DVD i've tried works?

It's down to the decoding codecs mate, I'd possibly try downloading the K-Lite codec pack.

Same thing happened to me mate, needless to say I fucked Media Player 11 right off, bag of w**k!

I presumed it was because my copy of windows *may* be ripped off? Is your's legit?

They're are genuine copies of Windows? Always disregarded that as urban myth!

It shouldn't have any bearing on the DVD playback though, it's a well documented issue when searching for the error code, loads of resolutions.

agree with paddy, 11 is a pile of toss for video related media. can't stand it so use Win DVD now

Don't understand why that particular dvd wouldn't play, when every other one did?
