Media player codecs?

Need to update my Windows Media Player codecs, anyone know where I can get an all-in-one bundle?

what player? if you d/l wmp11 you get most of the codecs needed!

I've got 11 but it wont play the video on some random avi file a mate has emailed to me...

best thing to do is use VLC player, its free to download and I am yet to find anything it doesn't play out of the box (so to speak) it doesn't need extra codecs downloading etc, it just works!

i play avi's thru quicktime.
