Medianav Turning Off all the time

Hi, all the medianav in my 66 reg clio has suddenly started shutting off by itself when im driving, when it reboots I have to enter my security code everytime. Renault have quoted me £180 just to look at it! Any idea what it could be or has anyone had this before?

Have a go at unplugging it and plugging it back it. It's really easy.

Ok, thank you, are you thinking the wiring might be loose?

Yeah possible loose. Whilst in the car with the medianav exposed - start the car and let the medianav boot up. Then wiggle the wires a bit to see if that causes it to shut down.

Ok thank you, it does tend to happen when i go over a bump or pothole but its not exclusive to that

Seen it happen when they develop a fault, check the power as said above to make sure it's not a loose connection. Second hand units are cheap if required.

Could try flashing the latest software onto it and see if it cures it

Like all multimedia systems, it is possible to update the system of MediaNav and MediaNav Evolution.The update procedure is very simple.First of all it is necessary to know the system version. For this it is necessary to go in Setting, then tab System , go down on the second page to go to the

a 66 plate will likely be Medianav Evolution V1, you could get a V2 unit and that would give you android auto if you need to replace it
