megane bottom end

i have already searched the forum for this and i know it has come up a million times before but.....

what do i need to convert? from what i have read so far it is only a megane bottom end and starter motor. is this right?

i am thinking along the lines of megane bottom end, hot cams(do i need 16v cams or megane cams?any suggestions?) and polished and ported head and new clutch etc while it is all out.

reason why i have changed my mind from nitrous etc. is because i know a sh*t hot mechanic who will take a week off work and do WHATEVER i want on my car for around £400 labour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ive done this conversion to my clio, all you need is a megane bottom end (with F7R code), Williams starter motor, suitable chip to cover your engine mods.

So just to clear things up, my curent 16v head, new 16v cams and verniers will fit directly onto the megane 2.0 bottom end and run. All that is needed on top is the megane starter motor, oil pump and a Williams chip!

Is there anything else at all?? iv spent hours reading through old posts but it all gets a bit confusing, with mention of using willy cams instead of the 16v ones? Iv just bought 16v kent cams so I want to use them possibly with the 2.0 bottom end! (if it works) if not my 1800 lump is being completely rebuilt, balanced and lightned. Whats the best option?

Any help would be appreciated!

you need the megane bottom end (with oil pump), ecu or chip (suited to your mods, eg mapped to suit cams, 2ltr bottom end, exhaust, induction kit, etc) hill power is your best bet for a remapped chip to suit your mods

ive got a Williams head, megane bottom end, chip, pipercross induction kit, stainless powerflow centre exit exhaust

the clio/renault 19 16v head will fit directly onto the megane (F7R) bottom end, u just need a williams starter motor because it has a smaller body which fits correctly and doesnt foul the block like the larger 16v starter!

Well I cant find a megane bottom end and my car is booked in tomorrow, so it looks like a fully rebuilt, lightned and balanced 1800 block for me. The guy doing it reckons he can get a decent amount of power out of it to add to the head and cams iv just bought! Fingers crossed!
