jonnyboy said:that said I wouldnt fancy my chances against a teg on the track even with the remap/eibachs!
meggerman said:come on john, a remapped cup would be faster, a cup`d stock 225 would be the same...... apart from millions of luxury extras on the meggers + safety + better design etc..
for that man who said lets not talk about what version of 225 it was.. lol at you. how did they decide to swap some 18 x 8.5 " anthacite turinins for the "only avaliable on 225 fullfat" wheels, (18" 182 wheels) all the way to japan etc.. that theory is simply a load of poo balls.
its a 2002 fullfat series 1 without cup chassis tyre and steering + esp upgrades. It trounced the golfs even with their 23k list prices, 250lbft (50lbft extra) on ron98 BP ultimate fuel increases + 3k DSG boxes which all the vag/audi forum users are waffling about , it beat the sri 200 astra, it could have ealiy beaten a teg with cup mods and the bad driving at some points let it down. i.e a complete 5 sec miss change when he gets the wrong gear in the 225 and so the teg goes in front ?????? try that in F1 or btcc or any professional race and come first after a mistake like that lol ! if the megane had been driven better + in stock form it would be equal to that of the teg, if it was a cup`d model it would have won.
end of.
ohh and the meggers is 5k cheaper !! spend that 5k on the 225 and it should be raced against STi`s and win.
i simply hate this c**k sucking Jap fascination when its reno who lead F1, when its reno who produce all the forum members fun and when its reno who give performance + fun per pound.
ive yet to have actual fun in a Honda or a subaru or a mitsubishi motor. yet ive had fun in cheap reno`s + fords + peugeot`s
jonnyboy said:a cupped megane would blitz a normal meg 225 on a track, the original 225 is sooooo not a track focussed car, simply not what it was designed to do, no more than an Audi RS 4 is a track car. As meggerman rightly says a cup chassied meg with the cross drilled brakes etc would be a LOT quicker round the track than a normal one. Top gear times are 1.34 full fat and 1.32.5 for the trophy (cup chassis) by the way oh and the astra VXR trundled in half a second later at 1.33
