Megs Gold Class Shampoo - dont like it..

JMR

  RB 182 Cup
I've tried a few different shampoos over the last few months

* Autoglym I've been using for years - like it, but doesnt lather up enough really
** Chemical Guys Maxi Suds II - really like this product, good foaming, smells nice [puff:eek:] and leaves a nice clean finish
*** Zymol - the one you can get for £5.99 from Halfords - like this too, leaves a good finish and gets rid of the road grime nicely.

Last week thought I'd try some Megs Gold Class - 2 litre for £13? Something like that anyway.

Each time I've washed the Clio, or the missus' car, it streaks like hell once you've rinsed it off. Not needed an in line filter for the hose before, just suffer badly with this one product.

Any one else find this???

Needless to say, I think I'll be going back to the Z or CG.

Anyone have any good recommendations??

I've never had a problem with it tbh . Maybe your putting a bit too much in ??

Personally i prefer the CG extreme wash and wax .

Just used megs shampoo, its ace.

Gold class liquid wax however, has just taken me an hour of hard scrubbing to get off... took 4 passes, wont be doing that again!

Must have done something wrong?

I've been using the Megs one and had no probs. Tried using the AG one but I couldn't get on with that, it didn't bubble up enough.

I put four of the small capfuls in like it said.

I'll try less next time - it really cleans well but the water marks are a pain in the ar5e.

I do agree, gold class can be like that, i found it to foam quite well, but then found it left my paintwork bare. I dont like it, if you get rid of it fast enough youll be fine.

Why not try Megs Shampoo Plus next ?

Rich seems to think duragloss is good, but ive never used it.

^^^ Duragloss is alright , nothing special imo and no better than the CG extreme wash and wax .

i might do one day but i love shampoo plus and have been using it for the best part of a year now.

Gold class is a dirty and fowl product though i must admit. dont quite understand why people use it.

I have tried all sorts of stuff over the years and settled on Megs. Tbh never had any probs. Washed the 182 and the PT Cruiser yesterday and perfect finish on both. I tend to keep the cars wet until I've washed the whole car and then remove all the drops of water with a flexi-blade. Finally towel off and yer done. Not preaching to anyone tho. I think everyone has their own way of washing / detailing.

It's not a wash n wax as the name suggests ,lol . Try it mate . Its the best stuff i've found , not too many suds but very slick .

Good stuff, I rate it a lot.

I've used a flexi blade for years with no problems . As long as the car and blade are spotlessly clean you shouldn't have a problem . Saves hell of alot of time drying the car :)

iv only ever used megs gold class shampoo and never had a problem with it, i had streaks once but that was when i put too much in the bucket. thats probably ur problem.

I use myne through the mixture tube on the karacher and then clean it by hand with whats left in the bucket, always works a treat.

i stick with autoglym thru mosta the products i use i find when used together they give a better finish throughout the whole job. and as fopr flexi blades i use it maily to get most of the water off and use a bita cow for the finishing touches, each to ther own tho

Im currently using Tropi-care auto wash from Matt at i4detailing.

Nice product with good lather & slick on paint work, smells good too!

Gold Class leaves an odd feeling finish aside from that is not a bad wash, just expensive compared to what you can buy the Megs Shampoo Plus of Hyper Wash.

I have been washing the 106 loads as it is living outside till the Clio goes so using whatever soaps come to hand first, Duragloss is still a notch above the the Megs stuff and a country mile better then Chemical Guys offerings.

Megs NXT is horrible stuff. Used the Zymol Turtle Wax stuff earlier seems stringer than I remember it being.

Yeah it is an odd finish - makes perfect sense, almost feels sticky when you dry them after using it.

Dont even feel the need to try the stuff mate. Been throgh NXT Gen wash, shampoo plus x 2 then tried gold class, and am back to shampoo plus again with maxi suds and snowfoam.
