mild steel system heat wrapped prolong life?

Just an idea, would a mild steel exhaust all heatwrapped give it a longer life expectancy?

no. will keep moist trapped in there . it's the ventilation principal me thinks

As said above, heatwrap will get moist and then keep the moisture on the exhaust and rot it

that is all

pointless on a mild steel system.

Not sure where everyone is getting this "moisture being held in and rotting exhaust". everytime ive been under my car, the heat wrap had been dry as a nuns cu*t and never wet. even in the winter and the car had been sitting for days, still dry!

witnessed it 1st hand. A friend went through a lot of mild steel exhaust manifolds due to heat wrapping them
