hi there, if you have personalised plates that are less letters than a standard plate, what is the minimum space between the last/first letter adn the end of the plate?
so for a plate with 6 characters what is the minimum legal width for it?
thanks
The minimum margin around the numbers and letters is either 13mm (if your characters are 89mm high) or 11mm (if they are 79 or 64mm). The minimum legal width will vary according to the characters and their size depending on the type of vehicle and year of registration, but if you had a standard number plate made up you could trim it down to 13mm over at each end and that would definitely be legal as long as you didn't remove any of the plate makers legal details.
