Misfire - tried just about everything!

  182, SQ7, Trafic
So this misfire has been plaguing me for the last few weeks, it's is very intermittent.

Sometimes it can only be heard at the exhaust and then it will suddenly start running on three. I have replaced the following;

Coil Pack
HT Leads
Spark Plugs
Injectors
MAP Sensor
Air Temp Sensor

Last couple are things that have helped other people on here, checked connections etc...

Also made an earth from the head to the chassis as battery is in the boot.

Really can't think of anything else!

Any help is very much appreciated!

Have you had it plugged in,might narrow it down a little, could also be pre lambda sensor as this happened to mine.

sounds very lambda. Proper plug in would have narrowed it down nice and easy for you. Got proper diagnostics, and lambdas on the shelf if you fancy the trip over

Ive used the orange handheld thing and it brought nothing up.

Its now doing it constantly, I'll chuck a lambda on it tomorrow if I can find one as going to be under it doing the handbrake cable.

Cheers for the help! If this fails I'll misfire my way over Danny :)

cheap code readers are cheap for a reason. I pay a significant amount for diagnostics that actually works which is why it has to be charged for.

Randomly saw an AA bloke at the garage earlier tonight so got his on, but i imagine much the same as mine as it didn't even bring up an airbag fault.

Are you using CLIP software Danny

Ooh, didn't know snap on made one. Going to swap lambda and cps tomorrow and I'll give my results!

they do about 5 of different levels. The top end one is about £8k, with full touchscreen and wifi

i found out that the RAC use cheaper fault readers. theirs brought up a speedo sensor fault.

too it to renault and, well, it wasnt!

Running fine on and off today, noticed today that once above about 6k rpm it started then after a minute or so ran normally!

Unfortunately all my cats have gone so no lambdas about to try :(

The problem with the cheaper code readers is they will only show stored faults, using live data is much more accurate as you can monitor what your lambda sensors doing while driving
