Misfire - tried most things, help!

guys i need your help sorting a misfire,

Its a 2004 1.2 16v
I plugged it in and it was saying misfire, cylinder 4

No problem, so number 4 being (closest to engine mount) i pulled the HT lead off and no change,

I then plugged it in again and it now says cylinder 1 (nearest gearbox) but if i pull HT lead off there it splutters badly

Ive swapped the plugs between cylinders, ive swapped the injectors around and its still cylinder 1 showing on the cose reader
But its still no4 thats playing up.

I checked the coilpack
And someone has bodged the wrong one on previously, by filing and cutting it etc

So a correct one from renparts was fitted today and no change,

The engine management light flashes after 30 seconds of bad idling

Anything i can do?

Probably unlikely, but could be a valve problem (hopefully not) but if you've replaced everything else on the ignition side and it's only from one cylinder then it's possible...
