Misfiring/ Juddering 2nd-5th gear, only 1-2k revs.

  Clio 172 2001 ph1
Hi Guys,

As the title says, my 172 misfires/ judders on accelerating but only from 1-2k revs. After that it pulls fine and doesnt miss a beat. Also the problem mainly happens in 3rd - 5th gear when accelerating, but if you accelerate slowly in 2nd it is noticeable.

Any ideas as to what would cause it? No fault codes logged on the ECU, i have checked. Last two times I have done a motorway run the service light and airbag light have come on for 10 mins or so then gone off, and still no fault codes logged (although knowing French electrics this may have nothing to do with the above running problem).

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Turns out it had 2 problems. The juddering seemed to be fixed when I changed the HT leads but the error code was reading knock sensor. Changed them both and now runs fine. Although with a slightly lumpy idle but i'm told thats just how they are.

I had this exact problem with the knock sensor code coming up as well. It was the HT leads that were causing the problem. I think the misfire had caused the knock sensor code to come up, but I changed it anyway.
