Mitigating Circumstances (Court)

  German Barge

what would you guys write for mitigating circumstances in regards to my accident i had.

Along the lines of "it was out of character etc etc"???

Try to make my court case less servere...

Something had stressed you out, splitting up with your girlfriend or arguement with her.

Alternatively you could tell the truth?

ahh im not denying anything - its just this mitigating bit has to be filled out - as in a moral to why you did it, reasoning behind it.

Aye,

All has to be clean and above board.

Cant just say, oh, yeah, had a fight with my boss.

Sorry to say it, but that kinda thing just isnt an excuse if you are supected of causing a RTI/A.

It all gets taken into account, but the court will decide whether its mitigating or not.

All the best to you mate.

We all make mistakes, and it really is a damn shame. The unfortunate thing about this case is that the court will decide how you learn from it, and not you.

Hope all goes well for you in the case. Hope you dont get a big, fat bald judge who happened to be a driving examiner in his past life, an ex alcoholic still trying to go cold turkey and being a general allround mongey b*****d.

Go into your previous record of being a good driver, clean license, etc. Say it was an honest mistake, that you are sorry for whats happened, regret the incident and will learn to become a better driver for it, etc...blah blah.

Basically anything that indicates a good character in regards to your driving. Lay it on thick too. The law in this country doesnt work on common sense, so you have to resort to bullsh*t and sucking up to get anywhere unfortunately.

But if you caused the accident then you will most likely get done for Driving Without Due Care And Attention no matter what the circumstances of the other driver or road/accident site conditions, as is the lack of common sense I mentioned earlier. Just hope that your mitigation gets you less points and a smaller fine on top.
