Mk 1 1.4 --> 1.8

Hey guys i have a clio 1 1.4.
The crankshaft bearing has broken and therefore left me in the need of a new engine.

As im doing an engine swap i actually liked the idea of making it faster. I guess the 1.8 16v is the best option then?

So far i have found out its a relative easy swap... just the engine.

Is this true? Or does anyone have experience u want to share.

Won't you also need to change the gearbox, driveshafts, ECU...?

At least stick an F7R in. but then it's not much more to start throwing F4's in!

Surely finding F7Ps or F7Rs is getting more difficult nowadays!

Can just do engine swap on that too f7, likelihood of gearbox or something else in drivetrain dying though is pretty high

Okay and if i am able to also get the gearbox (with axles) , would i still be able to just use the 1.4 wishbone etc.? Or would i need to swap the entire subframe?

Subframe won't need swapping, in all honesty too think the valver stuff will bolt straight on
