MK 1 Ph3 Idle Problem

Hi all,

Hopfully this will be an easy fix for someone to tell me how to fix it myself.

My 1.4rt clio is having idle probs in which the car will start fine and once in gear will pull fine, but when i go to let it idlefor example at light or junctions it either stalls or idles at aprox 500rpm.

Ive cheaked the accelarator cable and all is fine........

what else could it be?

Sounds like a problem i had with mine, is the engine choking itself and dying or is it misfiring then dying?

My car was running bad because of my tapets in the head were tight on one side and loose the other. Thus making the car choke.

Also i would check that your sparks, ht leads, coil pack are working first.
Also check the air feed is sucking air in when the engine is running.

figured out the prob....there seams to be some sort of little push valve thingy...that pushed on the accelerator cable/ throttal actuactor thing. but im having troble trying to see what the problem is...

Does anyone know howto get to it proporly or and how much a new one is??????
