I know it's a bit of an old car but hoping someone may be able to help.
Mechanic fitted a recon starter motor to Mk1 1.9D in Jan. Started fine went to Tesco, went to restart and motor turns slugglishly as if the battery is flat. Mechanic can't come out until Tues and I miss my car now!
Newly charged battery didn't sort it, checking -ve battery earthing is all fine so went to go check the starter motor and can't find it for the life of me.
Removed the air filter and all you can see is the gearbox. Looked from underneath and it's all hidden behind structural parts.
I'm used to the starter motor sticking out like a sore thumb so would really appreciate any pointers of how to get at it. I guess it's been shoehorned in somewhere ridiculous thanks to small engine bay/big engine?
