MK1 172 info please

Just got my mk1 172 and just wondering if anyone can tell me about the their engine temp dislpay.

I ve noticed that when cruising it sits on the notch below middle. When idling it may creep to middle. Also when driving hard, if operatetes from just below the middle to the middle.

Where does yours sit and how does it operate.

when mines at the right operating temp it sits just slightly above the middle, even when driven hard, but then again ...africa...a bit warner than britain
