mk1 clio 1.8 rsi

i took my clio 1.8 rsi engine out of my car done some work to it but nothing electrical, ive put the engine bak in but wen i try to start it i lose all lights on dash then they start dimming on and off ive tried 2 fully charged batteries and it just does the same. some one please help me many thanks

First thing to check is that the earths are in good condition, especially the main gearbox to chassis one.

this. It's probably the earth strap from gearbox to chassis leg been left off

it was the earth on the gear box thank you all very much
