mk1 clutch cable inside car?

i dont know wats going wrong, the routing looks good, but when i clip the end in inside the car, then go outside and plug that up, then go back inside andd look at the cable inside again its pulled the sprung thing right to the top, so when i go to push down the clutch pedal the cable slips out??? whats wrong pleaase!?

Are you sure its the right cable and does the clutch work?

check the cable ends/clips/fastners

Common problem, It sound like a non genuine part, they have a differant outer cable length, never seem to work.
