Mk1 Dash needles

I put some blue LED's in my dash today and they look great but at night time its quite hard to see the needles

I had to sand down the back of the dials to get rid of the orange filter so that the blue would shine though and i was wondering do i have to sand the top and the bottom of the needles or is it possible to buy clear ones from somewhere? cos i can't seam to find any.

Some models came with orange needles and some with white
The white are more clear then the orange.
But sanding it should work.
