Mk1 Roof Rattle (Phase 2 - Elec Sun Roof)

  Oyster Card
Has anyone got any tips on how to stop the nasty rattle coming from my roof, I'm sure some of you have encountered it, sounds like like two ball bearings rolling around in the lining (I have removed the factory fitted loose screw btw.)

When I put my hand behind the sunroof i.e about in line with the drivers headrest the rattle stops, so loud today dont know if the weather has anything to do with it?

Tried putting some bubble wrap around the sunroof lining but made no diffrence, I'm sure one of yous out there has had and cured this really really annoying rattle.

The only thing I had was when I got my clio airborne about 30cm, landed, and then had a rattle, that turned out to be a screw (never found out where that came from)

After that, it was silent.

Perhaps, if u've removed too many screws, its now loose?

Hi nah I've only removed the one screw which just sits in the roof lining, I think it may be weather related as its come back again now its cold.

Sorted, I hope. bit of sponge around the roof lining next to the sun roof, the only problem is half the black seal isnt seated properly, am i right in thinking thats just to mak the car look tidy and not stop it turning into a fish tank? as its only slipped on there anyway so no where near a watertight seal before hand luckly ive got a non leaking sunroof.

People think im mad the length i go to stopping my car rattling but its probably only fellow clio owners who know how frustrating it is even thought of selling because of it. **group hug**

Oooh, So you jammed in some sponge inbetween the roof and the lining? Where abouts? Behind the windscreen (as in, in the direction of the boot) Seems like a good idea actually! :]

Pack of 4 sponges, 99p... sorted.
