Mk1 Speakers and speakers in general

Ok i just want to clear a few things up.

What size speakers are in the back of the car.

What is the difference between 10cm and 13cm even if power rating is the same i.e. why would it be better to get 13cm if they are both rated at 50watts rms.

Would putting a sub in the boot with 6*9s f**k up the 6*9s?

Could i have some components in the front, and some components in place of the back speakers and a sub?

Whatwould you recommend as some speaker upgrades... makes models to fit in the car?

I have 6x9s and 2 subs in the boot. Alot of people have disagreed with me and said that this is wrong in the past, but i think it seems alright. The speakers in the back are 10cm.

I would highly recomend using components, rather than 6x9s. The sound quality will be much better.

So the speakers in the front and back are the same..

Would you suggest updating back speakers and front, and then a sub or would front components 6*9s and a sub be better.... because i have no speakers in the doors it would mean a lot of f**king about to get bigger than 10cm

yes, both the front and rear spreakers are the same size (4"/10cm).

The ones in the doors (if u have any, are 6"/13cm). If u havent got any, you can put speakers in. You have to cut the plastic out, but if u do it properly, it will look fine. I did. It will improve ur mid a lot in the front. May want to put some components in the front, amped.

I have 6by9s in the back with 2/10" subs. Its up to you. I think components will sound the nuts over 6by9s, but i recommend amping the coments.

6x9s shouldnt be used aswell as a sub in the boot, unless you make seperate sealed enclosures for the 6x9s.

For the best system go for components in the front and a sub in the boot. Both of which should be ampd. If you do want some rear fill (no not that kind) then some coaxials in the back running off the HU should do.

Ok so would that be an amp for the subs and a different amp for the comps... if i did do that where would i plug the 2nd amp since i know where the first would go.... could i just use another pre-out for another amp? there are 3 in total on the head unit i have.

The reason not to use 6*9s with a sub is that when the sub moves it also moves the 6*9 which makes it distort badly and will eventually damage it.
