mk1 vee v cup

  LY 200
Was thinking of getting a cup when somebody finally buys my hybrid but i have just recieved a fairly tasty quote on a mk1 vee so am thinking for looks alone this would be the better option.

Whats everyone think? What would you have?

Whats the reliability like in comparison to the 172? Any common faults that are known?

Never been too up on the vee as im only 21 and didnt think get round to owning one but seems i may be able to manage it now.

Some v6's have problems with coil packs going faulty, but of course as always we only hear about those which do. Same for every car I guess.

Can't really think of anything else.

vee all the way....
dont forget to where all the right safety gear as its a mkI..:)

I considered getting a mk1 vee next, but I hate the interior with a passion:evil: its a total off put for me.

I like the mk2's but they cost about 5k more (which i don't have):dapprove:

You could get a cup & run it for a bit see how you get on, then get a vee after mate ? (trade up)

Vee's (whether you agree or not, just in my experience) are slower on track and are a totally different drive. Cups can be chucked about and taken to the limit and back off without thinking about it. Mk1 Vee's take concentration to drive quickly as on the limit the slightest mistake might see you going backwards.

Plus running costs will be more, expect 1/2 the fuel consumption, tyres will be a killer to replace and higher insurance. But thats not the point of the Vee, is it.

Shame both isnt an option. lol
