been asked to have a look at my mates car for him.
basically when you start it up the revs go up and down from 500rpm to about 1500rpm for about 20 seconds the the coil light comes on and the car cuts out.
restarting the car and the same thing happens (warm or cold).
so far we have replaced the ignition coil, taken the tdc sensor out and cleaned the tip this made no differance.
however disconnecting the MAP sensor the car still idles badly but once above 2000rpm it will run ok.
he is going to purchase a tdc sensor tomorrow however i don't think this will make any difference.the only thing i could think of was cleaning out the throttle body, however this doesn't look easily accessable.
any help would be greatly appricated
