MK2 172 Lower grill removal...HOW

  ICE'dberg MK2 172

Anyone know how this comes out. Ive had a look and a fiddle but it wont budge and I dont want to break it.

Thanks in advance.

Wayne told me that there are 3 screws under the front bumper, unscrew these and the grill can be unclipped - not tried this yet tho.

Someones already tried that one!!!! ;)

So when the clips are released does it go inwards or outwards????

Behind the bumper is a deflector which directs the air to the rad. This is fixed to the bottom of the bumper by 4 pop rivets & to the subframe by 2 10 mm bolts, u will have to remove this to gain access.

Remove the bolts holding the plastic cover to the bottom of the engine.
Drill out the rivets holding this cover to the bumper (5 in all I think.)

Remove cover.

Get under the car and ease the grill off the clips (may need to use a small screwdriver)

It is connected to a bit of plastic trim at the top of the bumper by clips – unclip it and it should come free.

Goes inwards

Took me about an hour to do mine - also did Jillybs both look really good once meshed.

Its a Renault.. putting the car out in a light breeze is likely to do it.
