mk2 ph1 aerial

i cant remove the big long aerial from my car, i've tryed screwing it of but it just doesnt come off....any ideas??

They should all just screw off, not trying to sound funny but are you unscrewing it the right way?... Theres another thread on this yestoday infact were everyone told him to unscrew it, and it snapped at the bottom so now he is faced with removing the bit that joins the roof, so just be careful, but it should unscrew, i had to use two hands when i did mine the other day.

i had trouble removing mine to dude go to a garage where someone u kno works or where u kno the ppl and get them to do it then if they break it thet gotta sort it where as if you keep tryin and you break it you got fork out to get it fixed
the ph 1 ones arent always easy to get off

This might sound daft, try to give it a bit of a tighten up first, then see if it un does.

Could NOT get mine off. Just had to remove the whole base and get a new one in the end.

Got it sorted now though pretty easy to fix but im just leaving the long one on now as i cant be bothered going through it again for the sake of an ariel.

When mine snapped i had a go at trying to get it off with 2 sets of mole grips and still had no joy. TBH id just leave it unless its really, really annoying you

Mine came off ok, but mines an 02 Mk2PH2, couldnt do it with one hand but the little bit more strain with the right arm and it just unscrewed, my new CTR one should be here in the morning

How did you get on at the scrappy?

Pretty good got a rear wiper arm, arial, fog light cover and a jack for £30.

Oh and a cig lighter and astray "on the house" lol
