mk2 ph1 getting lowered tomorrow some before pics n afters to follow

After quite a lot of thought I’m getting my mk2 ph1 lowered by 40mm tomorrow, I wasn't going to get it done at first but after a few suggestions by a few people I’ve decided it would look better lowered. I wasn't sure whether to have it 60 or 40 but decided on 40mm as I go over loads of speed bumps (more like speed hills) on my way and back to work. I dropped it off tonight and its getting done in the morning £50 for fitting them all and £70 for the shiny red springs delivered.

some before pics here ill post some after pics tomorrow and then some more a week or so later so you can see how much it has settled (if any). Also I’m waiting for some fog lights I can fit them £25 for 2. :D :D:rasp:

Looking forward to getting a rough idea to what it will look like from yours

ye the front ones are huge, i suppose its because all the weights at the front and the spings go all the way from the top of the arch to the bottom. it mint end up being lowered 40mm at the back and raised by 400mm at the front lol.

do you mean it drops from 40mm to 60mm, if it does im not arsed ill rather it be a bit lower than 40.

i have exactly the same springs on my mark 2 phase 1 mate and tbh it sits a bit crap, the ideal would be 50 mm on the front and 60mm on the back i think that would look perfect, 40mm is okay but the back is still very high

had them fitted today and i am pleased with them, its been lowered exactly to where i wanted it not to low not to high. the ride is slightly bumpier but not much. they seemed to have settled good maybe they will settle abit more over the next week. just had five off us in it droppin us off in wigan and it didnt rubb or anything just abit bumpy (looked like it had been lowered 140mm with us all in lol!). it handles loads better the body roll is much less. overall very pleased.

as said, doesnt look 40mm mate, mines on 40mm apex and sits lower at the back. Still, better than it was !

here's mine on 40mm springs as a comparison

ph1 172 so dont know if it would sit any different, but you get an idea of the height

its a 172 so it is going to be lower than a 1.2 to start, have a look at the before n after pics and then look at a tape measure then you will see its 40mm, the pic of your 172 is more like a 60mm drop on a 1.2. if it was just 20mm you would not even be able to tell have a look at a tape
