Mk2 Ph1 Rear Light problem..

hi, my mate has a set of lexus lights he wants to put on his mk2 ph1 clio, but when he wires them up, braking causes the indicators to come on, basically all the lights come on when they shouldnt.. i reckon the lights are maybe meant for a mk2 ph2 but i could be totally wrong, any ideas?

yea u may have to swop the wire over so its in ph2 patten
