Mk2 V6 colours

Just got some colour swatches off of Jeremy today!!

As well as the Metallic Red, Blue and Silver (titanium), there is a Metallic Black (not pearl, its a new colour), Metallic Grey (nice!), Metallic Yellowy Green (not sure, thought I might have this but having second thoughts now), and wait for it, a Metallic Brown (to be honest its more of a Bronze, quite nice but dont know that itll suit the vee).

I think im going for the Black, its got a really big "fleck" to it and although this is still going to come with the silver side air intakes, I think it might look alright. If not ill have them colour coded!!

Any comment/input appreciatd.:D

Forgot to add that the Blue, Red, Silver and Black are all no cost options and all come with the silver side air intakes.

The Grey, Yellowy Green and the Browny Bronze are all a cost option of £1100 and come fully colour coded (no silver on the side). These are not available until next year!

The Black isnt available until December, I think thats it.

like the blue or red, but black would be great. Its one of the most difficult decisions when buying a new car. Both the new clios I had took ages to decided and for one reason and another both times i ended up with a different colour to what id originally ordered!!!!

With the big flecks, it sounds similar to panther Black on Fords. (Not a Ford fan at all, but it is a fantastic colour.) Not sure about the other colours as cant really comment without seeing them.

What about the grey Steve? What kind of grey is it, how dark? Might be quite cool. Anything like the dark grey on the other Clios?

Personally I think black suits everything, even the Cooper-S looks good in black.

I think weve made our mind up and its going to be .......

.........BLACK!

Means we wont get the car until the new year, but hey ive been waiting over 2 1/2 years for this anyway so whats another six months?!?

The grey is very nice, quite light in colour, sort of a bluey grey, nice but not nice enough IMO.

It really will be touch and go which baby turns up first!! Michelle is due to drop on Friday 13th of February.

Good choice of colour Steve. You will probably be one of the first people ever to have a BLACK V6 and it will look FAB. Since red and blue have been seen before and silver cars are everywhere, how cool would a BLACK V6 Clio Mk 2 be?

Im getting excited for you Steve.

You can be next to me in the queue as Steve is coming up to Scotland first to take me out for a ride! We could run it in on the quiet roads up in the Highlands!

Do you think that blue V6s will be as popular as the silver ones were? Or is it that there were very few blues made (apparently only eight) therefore they all appeared to be silver, just like the 172s are mostly in silver.

If it was me getting a new V6, I would probably choose a new colour because I think that new cars in a different/new colour always look much newer and stand out more than if it is in a colour previously used on the car, like silver. I think the black or very dark graphite ish metallic would really stand out in a car park, (that is, if anyone could bear to leave a V6 in a car park)!

its a Clio at the end of the day. For 27k you could get something real nice with proper power. 255bhp from 3litres is a little stingey in my book.

i must admit i would probably spend 27k on something else but V6s are cool and still rare on the roads so turn heads more than most cars do. as for the faster for you money jim if we wanted more power for what i spent in my 172 or you spent on your cup we could have had a sunny gtir, a scooby, rx7 turbo, supra turbo, nissan 300zx etc etc, depends on what you are considering when you are choosing a car. i say fair play to steve :D

I couldnt afford to insure a supra twin turbo, i did look, ins group 19!

The other thing i didnt like about them is that most of them seem to be automatics.

Id had three years of maintaining a car and the added bonus of if anything going wrong you just take it back to the dealer appealed to me.

and at the end of the day it is down to individual choice - there may be "proper power" cars for less money but they are very few cars that are as rare as the V6s or as stunning!! :D

i have seen the "yellow" by the way - and it isnt a yellow like my sunflower, it is close to the "dirty nappy" colour of the M3 !!! its mustardy/greeny/browny and isnt to my taste at all, but at the end of the day I think the new V6 will look pretty stunning in any of the colours - just down to personal choice of which you prefer.

My Dad has the same opinion as you Jim172CUP, but there is something about clios, unless you driven a vee then I suppose its impossible to comment. The new V6s look fantastic and in Black with the silver vents its just gonna look the buisness!!!! Like Kis says its about choice, if we all had the same taste life would be boring

Still if you can afford to spend that kind of money on a car youre not going to worry too much about residuals.

Dont get me wrong, i like them but its still a Clio!

Jim, dont be an arse mate!!

As far as buying a V6 is concerned I accept your comments. I know that theres alot of other hardware about for £27,000, but at the end of the day its my personal choice! And by the way, you should read some of the write ups on the new vee, it nearly piped a 911 to the post in a recent Autocar artical, not bad for a car half the 911s price!! (and yes I do realise that this is just someone elses oppinion).

But as far as the last comment you posted, "If you can afford to spend that kind of money on a car youre not going to worry too much about residuals", that really PISSED me off. How the f**k do you know my financial status you w**ker!! I work just as hard for my cash as the next person, wasnt born with a silver spoon in my mouth!! And yes, Of course im worried about future residuals, I cant afford to through money away!!

Rant over, and back to my buddies:

GR, no probs love, but dont know when Im going to be in Scotland?!?

Loony, you know the score, any time mate!!

No worries Loony, hopefully ill catch up with you and Rod, sorry, Lee sometime at a meet!!

Are you going to Trax2003 at Siverstone in September?? If so ill see you there!

Chill, its only my opinion. Thats what forums are all about. All I was saying was that if i had that kind of money i wouldnt buy a Clio. Now i love my Cup and think its real fun to drive but i know there are better cars out there. I know this is a Ren forum but they dont always make the best cars.

Like i said its only my opinion and you shouldnt take it personally, calling me names just makes you look immature.

No, Jim I did take it personally, because this comment has come up before ,about if you can afford the car then anything associated with it, i.e running costs, lost residuals, price of parts etc.. isnt a problem for the owner!

Well, I work bloody hard to afford to buy and run this car, it is my life (apart from my wife and immediate family), I dont smoke, dont buy designer clothes, drink very little!

But all of these sacrifcies are so that I can afford my past time, my hobby, my interest!!

I now this is MY choice, and know one makes me live like this but you must understand that a comment like yours is very annoying, knowing the sacrificies I have commited to be able to have my pride and joy!!

Cheers Alymac, yes, I know!

The more I think about it the more I know ive made the right choice.

Only thing is ive got to wait longer for delivery, the black cars arent being built until the end of the year. Oh well, the wait will be worth it.

Anyway, I think you might be a bit bias towards Black, so your vote doesnt count.

i know what you mean about sacrifice my 172 was a stretch but i dont smoke and i havnt had a holiday abroad in a few years (could do with one) and i dont buy clothes as often as i would like to but i decided that i wanted a 172 and now ive got one, so despite having to cut back on things i would like im well happy with it. im not a spoilt rich kid nor do i have a good job i just work hard for what i want and made changes to my lifestyle to get it
