MK3 DCI Fuel Consumption

  Clio MK III Dci 106
Hi

Looking some feed back on this. I have a MK3 106bhp model. I have had it for over 2 years, with 27k on the clock now. I would never say it was easy on fuel with average mpg at 45mpg with a mixture of town/motorway driving. I now drive a round trip of 60 miles per day on motorway and still struggling to get over 50mpg. Last week I drove on the motorway at 60mph and in 6th gear and when I filled the car up with diesel it worked out I got 52mpg.

The computer keeps showing up at over 60mpg, and I would expect better mpg driving at 60mph.

Does anyone have a 106bhp, and what mpg are you getting on fill ups.

Does anyone have the 86bhp and what mpg are you getting

i have a mk2 dci 100 which is nearly the same engine, mine is remapped running 125bhp though, and at 60mpg on the motorway in 5th gear (i only have a 5 speed box) i average around 65mpg, obviously you have a 6 speed box but are carrying over 200kg more weight so that doesnt seem right. around town im averaging 55mpg.

check your tyre pressures, i recently had a front one a little low and i lost an average of 5mpg, go for 35psi front and 32psi rear and take it from there

I check my tyre pressures every week, I use 35psi front and 32psi back. I have had 2 Mk2 dci 65bhp Clio's and they could easily do nearly 70mpg and never got less than 52mpg in town driving.

52mpg worked out at the pump sadly sounds about right

my dci86 trip says 61-64mpg really im seeing 55mpg normally ive had 57 & 59 on other occasionals 51mpg was the worst i

an that seems hardwork tbh i dont think they are as good on fuel as they claim

where do you fill up mines be run on sainsburys derv

I was using cheaper diesel for a while, but I am back using BP, and not seeing any increase in mpg, so I am going back to the cheaper diesel, which is 3p per litre cheaper. I have tried using Millers additive etc but seen no different.

Topped up this morning with diesel:

Done 362 miles (20 miles of this was town driving)
Filled up 29.93 litres at £1.219
Fuel consumption 54.98

A little better than I was getting, I might drive at 70mph on the motorway this week to see what I return in mpg.
