MK3 lowering options

  Mini Cooper S
Right...I have a Dynamique S 1.2 TCE

What are my lowering options apart from coilovers?

Links please! I have searched, only seen the H&R & Eibach springs, do the H&R fit the 1.2?

Thanks in advance

The only option avalible apart from coilovers is springs.

These are the cheapest option, branded as K-Tech's own springs but i pretty sure they are Apex springs. They get many mixed reviews but you get what you pay for TBH.

Like you have mentioned there are Eibach Pro lowering springs for the 1.2 models. A bit more money but everyone recomends them highly.

Also a bit more middle of the range there is the Spax ssx springs.

All of these springs will be fine with stock dampers and lower around 30-35mm, however the MK3's are like 4x4 and TBH could do with about 45+mm. The only way to get it lowered by more than 30-35mm is coilovers but they are alot of money. Cheapest set i can find is wietech GT hicon coilovers. Very good quality and am pretty shure they let you go low as 90mm. But the price is just short of £600.

Lol was expecting this, but got to give it to you, your car is simply fantastic with those coilovers.

Tis all that has to be said, if you want to Lower a Mk3 then Coils are your only option Springs are just pointless and a waste of mney !

Cheers for the coment mate appreciated.

Thanks for the post Alex

BioHzrd, I'd love coilovers but I use my car for work (estate agent) in London so have to drive around the city over speed humps = coilvers a no go!

Shame the H&R springs don't fit the 1.2! Anyone got pics of the 30mm eibachs fitted?

Cheers!

I could still get over speedbump no bother with my car on the standard rear springs mate so speed bumps aint an excuse !

I've got Eibach prolines fitted to my mk3. It drops the car nicely so as it doesn't resemble an AT-AT anymore, and more importantly, the car handles 100 times better than it does stock, ie it no longer wants to roll every time you turn a corner! I've had them fitted for a year and a half now, and have had no bother with them at all. I'd highly recommend them!
