Mk3

  Renault Clio
Well I'm having my moms mk3 tomorrow! Can't wait

First thing I want to do is take the Clio badge off the back, I read that you simply get a bank card or something and pop them off? Will it not leave any marks?

Secondly will the silver visions I've got on my mk2 fit the mk3? I know I need to buy another 2 cause there's four bulbs on the front of the mk3, but was just thinking about swapping them over to save money.

Also I'm looking for a small ariel on eBay but there's quite a few, which would you suggest?

And where is the best place to get a 197 grille, I was thinking about getting a brand new one from Renault, is it easy to fit?

I've got some fancy plates on the way too so hopefully these little mods will transform the car instantly!

I'm pretty sure there isn't four indicator bulbs on the front of the mk3.

Use dental floss to remove the clio badge :)

Theres 2 on the back so u could buy another 2 :) also, i would definetly suggest heating the letters up on the boot with a heat gun/hairdryer before you try pry them off, will make it much easier and leaves less mess :)

Ive got two on the back of my other Clio so ill just swap them as well.

I'm worried now lol is it going to damage the paintwork?

Haha! I almost fell for the reflective indicators too! There's definitely only 4 on the car though if you're buying Silver Visions. :)

As for the grille, look out for 2nd hand sets. Cheapest I've seen is about £60 on eBay. Not tried Renault direct though.

Not sure on the stubby. I've got one on mine, but it's wider than the base, which annoys me slightly.

I used floss on the lettering and then used makeup pads soaked with tardis you remove the glue.

Nah dont worry mate, just take your time and make sure each bit is heated enough so the glue is soft and it will come off fine. The just wipe down with tardis etc like said above. should only take about 10 mins. Also, ebay is the cheapest ive seen for the grille.

How long would I hold the hair dryer on it for? And how close should I hold it to the car? Sorry just really worried.

I've seen a brand new grille for 65 so Ill get that one, is it easy to fit?

Dunno really mate, just play it by ear. As your heating it (10 cm away for example) just wobble the letters, they will get looser as your doing it and you can just get the card/floss in behind and ease them off. You will be fine, never seen someone mess it up yet. I suppose theres always a first time for everything though :)

I wouldnt worry too much, i was really rough with mine and it caused no damage. Just dont use sand paper!

I was going to get my grill from the dealer for my mk3, turns out its really not that much more expensive, plus it's local (well it is for me, dunno how close you local dealer is) and you know it's 100% genuine, I've seen some convincing fakes on eBay
