mobile doing my head in. maybe orange

i have a viewty atm im not sure if its the phone or orange but im having trouble recieving text messages. been happening a few months now its getting annoying. say my friend sends a message at 10:30 i didnt recieve it untill 00:05 (thats just one example) ive called orange and they told me i needed an update. did the update but it seems to have got worse. any ideas on what to do next?
