FFS, read the posts properly. superchips is a brand, like any other brand. they install generic maps for most road going vehicles. there are also companies out there that do live mapping like RS Tuning, Chip wizards etc etc. if your car was made before 2001 you can re map the cars through the OBD2 port. if the car was made before 2001 you have to remove the eprom chip from the ECU, use an emulator when live mapping, install the file either on a new chip or re use the old chip if it wasnt damaged when it was removed and solder it back into position in the ECU.
what DUCK is saying is that he prefers live maps because they do a full diagnostics check before hand. however, 99% of mapping companies out there will do this anyway because mapping a car that has a fault is just asking for bother or a mechanical failure of some sort.
superchips are a company that generic map cars, its a brand and not a process. learn this
