Monaco Money Pit

After years of having the Clio as a ‘track car’ I feel as though I made a mistake and should have gone for the ‘clubsport’ finish of the build 🙄

I’ve been looking through peoples builds and the more I look the more I’m feeling the Clubsport vibe rather than the stripped out finish! Obviously parts are getting thin on the ground but lucky Renault being Renault a lot of it can be salvaged from a boggo Clio things such as carpets and plastic trims.
I have most of the interior of mine in the loft. I’ve gone full tilt on mine so if you need anything let me know.

@SharpyClio I will deffo take you up on that offer.

I started to strip it all out, I don’t think I’ve updated the latest pics but I’ve removed all sound deadening but keeping heaters etc but I’m feeling the interior back in now 🙈

It does make the car sound and feel like a race car having everything out I’m not going to lie

Mines heading that way, I added solid engine mounts and that make is 1000 times worse. Just sounds like a bag of bolts has been released inside the car, but I wear ear plugs to protect whats left of my hearing.

Clubsport is the way to go IMO.

Stripping Clios out ultimately doesn't make them any/much faster i don't think. Not without going to a serious level on the weight loss ~800kg.

I've stuck to the back of many stripped out ones around Oulton. It's only the properly light ones that gain a bit of a gap.

Solid engine mounts, PMS shifter, fully polybushed, spherical suspension mounts on a roll centre kit, coilovers and fibreglass bucket seats

Not the most enjoyable thing to drive on the road now even with carpets and doorcards. The doorcards will be coming off because I keep banging my elbow on them when on track. Might leave the carpet and just have the battery in the back

If you need an interior there is one under the stairs of a house I used to live in Reading. I didn’t know what to do with it so put it there and forgot about it as it was in a cupboard in the cupboard under the stairs so wasn’t even on show. I’d laugh if it is still there 9 years later.
