More alcantera pics

following on from THIS THREAD i decided to cover my A pillar covers in the stuff too as ive still got loads of the material left.

i think they came out much better than the dash inserts, they look OE in the 182 now and bring a touch of quality to the otherwise poor interior.

see what you think...

If you could manage to do the whole dash in it properly, that would look awesome mate. Looks good so far though.

  182 RB FF
Looks really good mate, nice one.

My Girlfriends dad just got a new Focus ST and the material throughout is dark and it looks really good, wonderd how much effort it would take to do the same to a clio

Was not sure on the insert bits you did, but those trims look spot on.

yeah the dash inserts were my first attempt at alcantera'ing so i might redo them at some point... the finish isnt as good on them as these A pillar covers.

They finish it off nicely mate, your getting good at this alcantera business, whats that sensor on the A pillar cover, is that for an alarm?
My girlfriend keeps spotting you by the way!

They look awsome, really makes a difference to the crappy plastic that you see normally.

Next step the dash board LOL

Lol, shes very shy not much chance of that, she saw you on Purewell roundabout apparently it was looking very very ORANGE!
Don't talk to me about jealousy, she gives me the cold shoulder if I give the car too much attention!

yeh great job! is alcantera cheap to buy a roll of?

i bought 2x1m of the stuff for £52 so no, not particularly! lol

it came from a local fabric supplier. I originally bought some "genuine alcantera" from ebay which to put it blunt was s**t and not the proper stuff at all!

lol it would wear out pretty quick... the suade steering wheel in my race car was knackered after a season.

yeah it would wear out very quickly... not sure im good enough yet to complete the dash board or steering wheel.

just have to watch out for it fading

yup, ive got the originals still so can always swap them back.

if people genuinely want this done then i can do it for you. I'll be out of the country for a week starting tomorrow but can arrange it all when i get back.

  Turbos.
It doesn't match the dash, and it doesn't match the roof lining... so can't say i'm a fan. Perhaps if you did the roof lining it would fit in better.
