more gearbox problems

Finaly got a willy box in my hybrid, bought it as a recon, but it seems to grab into third like its just catching or something and makes a small grinding noise, i have only had it in the car a few weeks and was fine before this. It only does it when chaging below 3k rpm and only when changing up through the gears. Anyone have any ideas what this could be ?

have you filled it with 3.5 litres of oil?

filled it till it started dribeling out the fill hole

check the adjustment of the selector rod if its out of adjustment then it could be causing it to force its way into third. are 1st and 5th ok ?

yeh goes into all other gears fine

try draining a little bit of oil out, sometimes they work better wiht a little less in them on odd occasions.
