I know you dont have to have a Cat to pass an MOT test but is there any literature to back this up? Im trying to convince some naive people that in theory atleast you dont need a Cat.
For the MOT test it is NOT required that a CAT is fitted.. It is only required for the vehicle to pass the emmsions test that is related to the vehicle registration date.
So for example: If the vehicle was registered after 1 august 1994 then the vehicle must pass the "BET" test.. (Full cat test)
It is unlikely that most vehicles would pass without a cat fitted but there are a few example that would..
