MOT emissions question

During an emissions test at MOT i think im right thinking that the car has to produce under a certain percentage on idle, at xrevs etc. Is that percentage the same on different engines such as the 1.2 16v and 1.6 16v??
Any help appreciated.

i had 1.2 in mine and put 2.0 in i changed it on v5 but they said emmisions stay the same, i think when they test it at mot they just test it for what engine is under the bonnet?

Registered between 1/8/92 and 31/7/94 - meter test CO<=3.5% HC<=1200ppm

Registered on or after 1/8/94 and an exact match can be found in the DTP data book or analyser database then CAT test to specified limits otherwise CO<=3.5% HC<=1200ppm

Most modern vehicles have a Basic Emissions Test (BET test), co 0.20 max. HC 200 ppm max, lambda beetween 0.97-1.03! if they fail that, few do, it goes a bit different!

my old 1.2 got 0.2 on the emissions test and the examier said it was right on the limit of being retested :D massive sigh of relief so ill be taking the 172 back to the same tester lol

cheers for the info, so say if Batman's car with the 2 litre engine still had 1.2 written on the paperwork, would it pass MOT?
