MOT rip off

I had my clio MOTd on Saturday, and they failed it on two brocken front coil springs. On sunday i took both front wheels off and cleaned up the springs. They are in perfect condition. However. When the springs are manufactured i think they plastic coat them to help prevent corrosion. Ive notices that the plastic coating has cracked slightly at the bottom. So i chipped the cracked plastic away, and the metel spring is still strong underneath the plastic.

Can they fail me on springs where the plastic has come away? Ive kicked off with them over the phone and they want to see it tomorrow

plastic? its just paint aint it?they often just flake off on standard springs

Take it back, be polite and tell them they were mistaken.

As Stu says. Yes they have made a mistake but dont try rubbing their noses in it, or else it may backfire on you.
