Indicators showed a white light, which is b****cks cus i checked and they glow orange
Front hedlight is to low, i fitted it myself and didnt pick up a beam pattern
Thats the easy stuff now:
Back N/S handbrake failed, no reading showed!!
and it failed the emissions test and i aint even got a Decat, pass on CO2 AND H but failed on the upside y thing, not sure what it is
All advice is greatly appricieated thanks
My car failed on the brakes but mine is pressure related.
Ive never had a car pass first time and if its a big fail and will cost alot to fix i gamble and get it tested at a different place and then repair the cheapest one, different stations vary.
Dont know how you would fix the emisions prob, ive been told that before you take it to get tested get the car really warm and this helps the emmisions - dont know if this is true.
Cant remeber what that symbol is. It might be lamda that is caused by oxygen in the exhaust system,eg- the exhaust blowing, even a slight leak can affect lamda.
i aint got a scanner here, or my print out it with my car that being looking at by a mechanic but i could copy it out mate and send it to you.... jay i need some help i havent got a clue where to start..... the garage put it throuhg twice! and it still wouldnt pass..... i know it passed on engine speed, CO2 and hydrogen and failed on a symbol that looks like an upside down y! any clearer?
Im pretty sure thats lamda which is caused by an air leak on the exhaust system.Checks the exhaust condition and all joints for any leaks. Does the engine run ok in general? eg-no misfires etc.
no misfire but theres a very fast ticking noise when stationary, really does my head in! and it does sound quite loud when driving, like i have a zorst and filter but i have nothing
look down the back of the engine at the exhaust manifold. the first section of pipe that bolts to this is the front pipe which i think has a flexi joint on it. Where are you from?
To far for me to give you a hand, never mind. yes its the first pipe after the manifold.easier to see if you look at the back of the engine from underneath.
i will check tomorrow, do you think its likely to need a new cat? and if it isnt the flexi joint or the cat any other ideas, i really cant be affording 300+ quid, im a poor student
