my car reaches trhe ripe old age of 3 on the 4th july so its time for its 1st MOT.Do I take it to renault(they have alredy taken it upon themselves to book it in!)or to a local garage? Any suggestions?TA.

If youre with the AA, get it done at their test centre and get something like 25% or 33% off IIRC. Only on your first MOT with them though.

Im with the RAC,dont wanna take it to renault cos I know they will say that my pads are 70% worn,wiper blades are worn,etc etc.....

basically they will take out a very large wrench and use it to extract all the money they can out of your arse!!

True! They did that when I took it for re-gassing,they changed the wiper blades then and the rear discs!(pulls pants back up)

My advice is to go to an MOT only place.
Where I go they are not a garage, which means that they have no reason to find anything wrong that isnt (especially considering they would retest you for free)
