Has anyone tried this product, it claims to give just the finish I am after... brand new tyres rather than glossy black ones.

or recommend any similar products?

Not tried it, but if you want a Factory look to the rubber you could aslo look into Swissvax Penu

Gloss all the way IMO on tyres...

Get Blackfire tyre dressing, not tried the Pneu but can guarantee you will love it.

I only use it on tyres when a matte look is required, a few use it on exterior trim I have not tried it.

Prefer the Blackfire myself as I like gloss, but that would not be my choice for the look you want. Though buffed off well after it can just leave a nice deep sheen.
