Movement in gearstick

Hi,
Is it common for non sport clios to have a 'shaky' gearstick. Mine seems to have some movement in it, and was wondering if this is normal or if I need any parts replacing.
If so, what parts will I need, how easy to fit, and where to purchase from etc?

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, do they often have a high-ish biting point (I've had a new clutch fitted as it needed doing, so I know that's not on the way out!)
