MPG Query

My cup reads that its currently doing about 35mpg.

My wife has a Scenic Monaco 2.0 16v and hers says 27mpg.....

I know hers weighs loads but does that sound right to you?

yes, 172 engine are excellent on fuel.

Its very heavy.

Sounds like she can't drive to be honest. Harsh acceleration combined with wacking the brakes on and lots of idling = low mpg

And its a bigish car

Im getting about 41mpg out of my 1.2 16v atm.

Its an auto so not much wellie really. I guessed weight early on, just seems strange that I can "rag" mine and she has a heavy scenic and I get more fuel for my money

The scenics are pretty heavy, even the 2.0s aren't 'really' upto the job, they don't struggle as such but they need a fair portion of the go pedal to actually 'go' yet a 2.0 in a small car (e.g Clio) doesn't

Mate try a 1.9 DCI your shape scenic, tractor engines don't struggle pulling buses
