  Mazda MX5 1.8

if i got that it would mean i would be driving like a bit of a c**k tbh

anything over 45 mpg is reasonable imo

Are these figures taken from the computer or from working it out manually by calculating it from miles covered by a fuel tank?

Also, how does the computer calculate MPG? Is it just tell you what the car is doing at that moment? Or if you continue at those revs? Or does it average it over the whole tank??

Regards,

Taken from the computer. Their pretty accurate on my 182.

When you hit the reset button, it takes a few hundred meters to pick up a reading. When it does its basically what your doing then and there, but after time it starts to get the average since its been reset. If you see what i mean. I was wondering why the fuel was going down so quike, checked the mpg and it said 31.5 !! Bit low for a 1.2 lol. Its soooooo slow.

my 1.2 i get between 39 and 45 depending on how and where im drving it.

stop start stop start around town or what ever its on about 38.

is that the newer 1.2 engine???

  172 cup
you must be ragging it to get 31 on average... i can get 45 in my 1.2 16v driving generally... when pushing it 35ish

I only get around 27mpg in my 1.2.

I think its just because you are used to going a certain speed but to get the 1.2 to go at that speed you have to give it some beans.
