MS Excel Q

Hey.

Looking for a bit of help here. I have s spreadsheet at work, and I am wanting to have information autofill in some cells.

I have item numbers that start with DI00######. Is there a way I can get Excel to atomatically put in DI00 if I just type 123456? I know you can get leading zeros by using a custom cell format of 0000 if you have a 3 digit number but want a zero at the start.

The reason I want itis that I am not the only one using the spread sheet, and people are not putting the data in correctly. So im trying to auto fill as much data as possible.

Cheers

just type in all the numbers you need, for example 1234567 and so on, highlight all of the cells, go to format, cells. Then Go down to custom in the number tab and type in "DI"00#######

hope this helps

by the way you can format the all of the columns cells so that if you add more numbers, they will automatically have the DI00 in front of it
