MSN Problems

al

Car  ST on the way...
I wonder if anyone can shed any light on my little MSN problem.

I have tried all I can think of and searched through endless websites with no solution.

Can you help? :D

Basically, when I sign in it fetches me up the following error message:

msn1.webp

I click on troubleshoot and go through the motions:

msn2.webp

I have tried disabling ZoneAlarm and it makes no difference.

If I click repair it "repairs" the problem but makes no difference whatsoever.

Could these maybe have something to do with the problem:

msn3.webp

I have also tried the suggestion of registering some of the DLL's required by MSN but still has made no difference.

FYI: My PC is on Windows 2000 and I am setup as an Administrator. We run three servers, one being the internet gateway which is on Windows 2000 server using MailGate.

Webmessenger works fine, but is terrible ;)

Is it because I log onto a domain that it doesn't work and is there a way around it?

Is it something blindingly obvious and i'm being thick?

If anyone has any suggestions or can help it would be much appreciated :D

Thanks,

Al :)

Cheers Adele and Gaz, what ya like! ;)

Back to grubby old web messenger then I suppose...

download the latest version from microsoft.com, that looks like MSN Messenger - Bronze Age Edition your running there.

That WAS the latest version for Windows 2000.

Problem eventually solved by upgrading to Windows XP and using Socks.
